August BBQ

Our Annual BBQ at Roxanne's house was a success! The food was great, the company was better and the quilts were amazing (as always). Here are some photos of the Grand Event. A special thanks to Roxanne for being such a gracious hostess...

Sunny's Book
Sunny shared her quilt book idea with us. Although it's a lot more than just an idea - it's a masterpiece! She has a whole binder full of drawings of blocks. It's incredible. The idea is that there is a basic quilt pattern and basic measurements, but you get to choose the block style, layout, and whole look of your quilt. You get to design your own quilt and she's done all the work - you know it will turn out beautifully!
She describes it like going to Subway. You get to pick out the kind of bread you want, meat or no meat, vegetables, sauces, toasted, etc. It's a quilting smorgasbord!
We can't wait to see where this idea goes next! I can't wait to try it out for myself and make a quilt!

Janie's Crib Set

I told you I would post a photo of the crib set my mom made for Janie. I just LOVE it. We picked out the fabric together at Quilt Works and then she went to work! I didn't want a traditional quilted quilt, but a fluffy one with a ruffle edge. She used silk ribbon for the ties. I think it turned out beautifully. And how cute is the matching baby doll crib set!? Molly just loved having the same crib for her baby doll, whom she named Jane (so cute).

Looking at this picture makes me want to paint her walls and put a cute rug in front of her crib. Hmm, another project for another day. :)

June - SHOP HOP!

The Shop Hop was in June - I'm not sure how many from our group were able to go so I thought I would post the fabrics from this year.

July Meeting Notes & Photos

Okay so I added this picture after I realized I had forgotten it. I can't get it to cooperate and move to it's proper spot. So here is a project that Shari finished for her sister-in-law and brought to share with us! Carol Ann quilted it and it was stunning.

Our July meeting was held at Bobbi's house. It was fabulous! I still need to get her recipe for the dessert she served. It was delicious!
